It’s going to be busy !!!!

We plan to bring smiles back to Glossop and support our High st. And that means lots of lovely visitors and people on the weekend of 31st May, 1st & 2nd June 2024.

To keep people safe we are closing roads for the parade and static displays over the weekend. below is the info on ROAD closure times, car park closures and diversions. Buses will be affected too.

This means there will be lots of congestion for the weekend. So please divert around Glossop centre using the advice below.

Temporary Bus stops will be on Edward and Bernard st rather than Henry st 31st May, 1st and 2nd June 2024, and High st West on 1st and 2nd June. taxi ranks are not affected.

To accommodate attractions on display we will be closing from Friday 31st May to Sunday 2 June  2024 (unless otherwise stated) –

West end of B&M car park
North side of market car park 
Norfolk Arms/old NatWest car park.

The taxi rank outside the Norfolk remains open.

All shops and businesses remain open as usual, as does the Train station.

The bus stops on Henry st and High St West will be closed on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June and temporarily bus stops will be used instead, on Bernard st and Edward st. busses will be re-routed,

Railway st from High st west to Henry St 08:00-20:00 hrs  1st and 2nd June 

Market st, Cross St, George St 08:00-20:00 hrs  1st and 2nd June

PARADE – SURREY ST, GLOSSOP BROOK ROAD, HIGH ST WEST (FROM QUEEN ST JUNCTION TO HIGH ST EAST JUNCTION) SATURDAY 1ST JUNE 10:30 HRS – 12:00 HRS APPROX

NOTE PARKING WILL BE SUSPENDED ON HENRY ST, HIGH ST WEST, RAILWAY ST, GEORGE ST, CROSS ST AND MARKET ST FOR THE TIMES SHOWN. SHAW LANE PARKING WILL ALSO SUSPENDED 08:00-20:00HRS 1ST & 2ND JUNE FOR THE DIVERSION ROUTE STIPULATED BY derbyshire county council.

A57 TRAFFIC MANCHESTER TO/FROM SHEFFIELD – FOLLOW DIVERSION SIGNS – 

FROM WEST FOLLOW SHAW LANE, DINTING LANE, TALBOT ROAD, NORFOLK ST. HGVS DO NOT FOLLOW SAT NAV.

FROM EAST FOLLOW NORFOLK ST, TALBIT ROAD, DINTING LANE, SHAW LANE. 

NOTE THIS DIVERSION WAS STIPULATED BY DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

LOCAL TRAFFIC AROUND HIGH ST WEST CLOSURE – APART FROM PARADE TIMES ARUNDEL ST REMAINS OPEN FOR ROUTES USING HOWARD ST AND NORFOLK ROAD
